TDM

Introduction

• Isu Chemical produces TDM, which is a compound obtained by reaction between  Propylene Tetramer (PT) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S), and it is widely used as molecular weight modifier in emulsion polymerization.
• TDM is an auxiliary chemical essentially in the production of ABS, SBR, etc.
• In addition it is also used as a raw material for Polysulfides (PSU).

Applications

• TDM is used as a chain transfer agent in polymerization reaction to produce ABS, SBR, NBR, and SB-LATEX.
• TDM is used in polymerization of various monomers, such as chloroprene and vinylchloride.
• TDM is used as an intermediate in various synthesis:
    *Extreme pressure additives for gear oils, greases and metal working fluids.
    *Corrosion inhibitor for lubricating oil.

Caution in Handling

• Keep away from the source of flame.
• Store in well-ventilated area and do not use packaging material made of copper and  its alloys.
• If substance comes in contact with eyes, wash immediately with large amount of water.
  Or a saline solution until all traces is removed from eyelids. Seek medical attention immediately.
• If skin contact is made, remove affected clothing and wash affected skin with large amount of water and soap or detergent.
